Honestly, you don't get a lot of relationships like C.C and Lelouch's. Their bond was formed from the first episode, and C.C unlocked an opportunity for Lelouch to finally play a role in stopping his father's empire.
If you think about it, Zero would never have been born if not for C.C.
Lelouch is usually a patient man, as you see how interacts with his friends and colleagues, and even Nunnally. However, his demeanor completely changes when he's with C.C.
It's amusing how she drives him nuts, and he reacts to her totally differently from how he would react to the other women in his life.
C.C and Lelouch have also called each other accomplices, initially because of the contract, but after they've bonded so well together, they are equals to each other, because they share each others' pain and burden.
Lelouch calls C.C a witch, and she, in turn, calls him a warlock, and a demon, this obviously makes them compatible as a couple.
Also, at the season finale, in the original Japanese series, C.C is seen lying down on a wagon filled with hay, talking to Lelouch. There's actually an additional scene that shows Lelouch driving the wagon. That means that Lelouch didn't die, and maybe got his Code from Charles Zi Britannia.
C.C's wish was not to die, but to be genuinely loved by someone. Lelouch has said that he would fulfil her wish, her true wish. And so, they chose to spend their eternal lives with each other.
How are these two not adorable? 😭
